How does it Work ?

You will connect to a ‘virtual meeting room’ through your web browser (ie: Internet Explorer, Firefox etc).  You will be given specific step-by-step instructions via email once you register for one of the free workshops which explain how you go about this is very straightforward process.  The workshop will replicate a “chat-room” type forum where the Counsellor will talk to you and present information online, and you can either type your comments and questions about what is being presented (which will be read out to the rest of the group by the Counsellor as only she can see them), or if you have a microphone or headset then you will be able to verbally make comments which can be heard by the rest of the group.

There will be a maximum of 20 participants per workshop.

Is my Privacy Assured?

Yes!  Only the counsellor will know who is in the online workshop, and only the counsellor will be able to talk directly to you & the other particpants in the meeting. Participants can not see each other directly, but you can hear comments and questions that are being shared by those who have microphones and headsets.  First names only will be used during the workshop, so your identity will remain safe – you may even chose an alias if you wish to protect your anonymity.

What do I need to connect to the online worshops ?

You do not need to install any software to connect to the workshop, it is all done through your web browser.  Your computer must have a minimum of either Internet Explorer 6, or Firefox 2.0. You can still participate in the workgroup (hear and see the presenter) without a microphone or headset, but you will only be able to type your comments & questions.  Your computer must have speakers and sound to be able to participate as the counsellor will be talking to you throughout the session.

You can use any microphone and headset equipment that is connected to your PC or Laptop.  Many modern laptops have a microphone and speakers built in, so in this case you will not require any additional equipment.
